FlixBus adds Muskegon to new Detroit-East Lansing-Grand Rapids express route

 

New York, NY. (April 18, 2023). FlixBus, North America's fastest-growing intercity bus service, is expanding its express route between Detroit-East-Lansing-Grand Rapids this week with the launch of service to Muskegon for the first time in the company’s history. Tickets are now available at FlixBus.com or the FlixBus app and first Muskegon trips are set to depart on Thursday, April 20, 2023.  

Back in March 2023, FlixBus launched its first cross-border connections to Toronto from Detroit and expanded its Midwest network with new connections to East Lansing and Grand Rapids, and this week this line will be extended to Muskegon. This line will run 5 days per week (excluding Tuesdays and Wednesdays) morning trips departing from Detroit at 10:00 a.m. on service days and afternoon return trips departing from Grand Rapids at 3:20 p.m. All trips to Muskegon will stop at the Muskegon Laundromat at 1490 E Apple Avenue.  

This new line includes 5 stops, including East Lansing, Grand Rapids (Downtown) Grand Rapids East and Muskegon to give riders more options for affordable, convenient intercity bus service throughout the region. Tickets for Detroit-Muskegon trips start as low as $29.99, Grand Rapids trips start as low as $26.99, Detroit-East Lansing trips start as low as $21.99.

Save money and carbon emissions with intercity buses 

In addition to providing convenient, affordable bus service throughout the United States and Canada, FlixBus riders can reduce their environmental impact through optional carbon offset credits:  

• FlixBus has collaborated with atmosfair to offer customers the option to travel climate friendly on their FlixBus journey. Customers can purchase “CO2 Compensation” tickets during booking, thereby making a voluntary environmental contribution.  

• The optional cost of traveling green will be added to customers' ticket prices, approximately 1-3% of the original ticket price. 

• 75% of climate contribution donations in the United States and Canada are invested in atmosfair’s UN-accredited Gold Standard Climate Protection Project Cleaner Cook Stoves in Rwanda. 

• The remaining 25% flows into the “Future of Mobility Fund”, set up together by Flix and atmosfair, to drive sustainable mobility and decarbonization in the cities and communities where we operate. These donations help to take emerging carbon-neutral technologies out of the lab and onto the road for real impact. Customers will also support local communities, NGOs and volunteer groups to make eco-friendly living choices accessible to everyone.
