+++ New stop at Mary K. Giordano Regional Transit Center provides direct service to downtown Los Angeles and San Diego

DALLAS (March 3, 2025) – FlixBus, a Flix North America brand and the continent’s fastest-growing intercity bus service, today announced it will begin serving Torrance, California, starting March 6, 2025. The new service is the result of a partnership between FlixBus and Torrance Transit System, aimed at expanding transportation options for the community throughout Southern California. The Mary K. Giordano Regional Transit Center will serve as FlixBus’ home in Torrance, providing South Bay residents with a convenient, affordable travel option to major destinations.

The new service will offer direct access to San Diego for day trips and a reliable link to downtown Los Angeles, operating two trips per day on Monday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, and one trip on Tuesday.

“Expanding transportation access in the South Bay is critical for improving regional mobility,” said Karina Frayter, head of corporate affairs for Flix North America. “This new service gives Torrance residents a much-needed, affordable alternative to driving, providing a stress-free way to travel between Los Angeles and San Diego. FlixBus is committed to making intercity travel more accessible, and this expansion strengthens our ability to serve communities that have traditionally been underserved by public transportation.”

Opened in 2023, the Mary K. Giordano Regional Transit Center serves as a major transit hub for the Torrance Transit System and other regional transportation providers. The facility offers modern amenities such as a comfortable waiting area, food and retail options, and seamless intermodal connections to other local transit services. By integrating FlixBus service into the city’s newly developed transit hub, this collaboration enhances accessibility and strengthens Torrance’s connection to key destinations in the region.

“Partnering with FlixBus allows us to expand transportation options in a way that benefits both residents and visitors,” said Kim Turner, director of Torrance Transit. “This collaboration ensures that Torrance is better connected to key destinations throughout Southern California, making travel more convenient and sustainable. By integrating intercity bus service into the Mary K. Giordano Transit Center, we’re creating a hub that offers greater accessibility and ease of movement across the region.”

With this new addition, FlixBus continues its mission to make affordable, sustainable travel more accessible to communities across North America. Passengers can enjoy free Wi-Fi, spacious seating with extra legroom, power outlets, and USB charging ports on every trip, making the journey as comfortable and convenient as possible.

Tickets for the new Torrance service are now available at FlixBus.com and via the FlixBus mobile app.
