Kai Boysan, Chief Executive Officer

As CEO of Flix North America since 2022, Kai Boysan oversees the strategic direction of FlixBus and Greyhound, two leading providers of long-distance bus transportation across the U.S., Canada, and Mexico.

With over 25 years of experience in transforming and scaling businesses globally, Kai has a proven track record in driving operational growth and profitability. Early in his career, he led the transformation of some of the world’s leading businesses as a consultant in London. Later, as a Private Equity Fund director in Istanbul, Kai developed and led value creation plans for several portfolio companies before heading Kâmil Koç, Turkey’s largest intercity bus carrier, expanding its network and driving operational transformation.

Kai holds a master’s degree in economics from Yale University, a master’s degree from The London School of Economics and Political Science, an MBA from Imperial College London, and a bachelor’s degree from Middle East Technical University.

Rodney Surber, Chief Operating Officer - Greyhound

Rodney Surber currently serves as chief operating officer of Greyhound, overseeing bus operations, customer service operations, and maintenance and engineering. During his three decades with Greyhound, Rodney has held various leadership roles, most recently serving as vice president of operations. As COO and the top senior leader for the brand, Rodney leads a team of over 2,000 employees and ensures that Greyhound continues to solidify its leadership position in long-distance bus travel and deliver exceptional service across its extensive network in the U.S., Canada and Mexico. An expert in transportation logistics planning, Rodney is focused on refining Greyhound's organizational strategy and objectives across its regional and national operations while maintaining the highest levels of operational performance and customer service.

James Bristow, General Counsel

James Bristow, General Counsel

James Bristow is general counsel at Flix North America, where he is responsible for leading the company’s legal department, counseling C-suite executives on all legal matters, and overseeing Flix’s legal and compliance activities. James brings two decades of legal experience to Flix, including managing corporate litigation functions, regulatory compliance, and labor- and employment-related legal matters. Before joining Flix, he spent almost 10 years at Dallas-based EnLink Midstream, a publicly traded leader in the energy sector, where he served in various roles, including associate general counsel, director of regulatory affairs, and director of training and compliance.  Prior to his time at EnLink Midstream, James was a senior associate at Baker Botts LLP, an AmLaw 100 international law firm. An alumnus of Harvard Law School (J.D., ’05) and the University of Texas at Austin (B.A., B.B.A., ’02), he is proud to have won multiple D CEO Magazine Corporate Counsel Awards (2021, 2023).

Scott MacDonald, Chief Financial Officer

Scott MacDonald, Chief Financial Officer

Scott MacDonald is chief financial officer for Flix North America responsible for financial planning and analysis, accounting, treasury, tax, corporate risk management and internal audits, and procurement. Scott brings over 20 years of broad financial leadership experience in global companies, including in the transportation industry. Prior to Flix, he served as vice president of financial planning and analysis at XPO Logistics, where he played a key role in executing spinoffs of two business segments into publicly traded companies and built forecasting processes driving improvement in financial and operational performance. Earlier in his career, Scott spent 15 years at General Electric holding several senior finance leadership positions across GE Corporate, Commercial Real Estate, and the Corporate Audit Staff. He holds a degree in Finance and Entrepreneurship from Babson College.

Karina Frayter, Head of Communications

Karina Frayter, Head of Communications

Karina Frayter is Flix North America's head of public relations and corporate communications. In her role, Karina leads all aspects of the external and internal communications strategy in North America, overseeing corporate and public affairs communications, brand positioning, employee communications, as well as  and reputation management for the company and its two brands, Greyhound and FlixBus. Karina has extensive experience in media relations, brand positioning, corporate and financial communications, stakeholder engagement, and issues and reputation management. Most recently, she was vice president of public relations at XPO, a leading freight transportation provider, where she guided the company through a spinoff, leadership transition, and brand positioning post-spin.  Prior to that, Karina was senior director of corporate and financial communications for Macy’s, Inc., as well as senior managing director and head of media at RF|Binder, advising Fortune 500 companies, startups, and non-profits globally. Earlier in her career, Karina was a television producer for over a decade, covering business and financial news for CNN and CNBC. She holds a master's degree in international affairs from Columbia University, School of International and Public Affairs, and a bachelor's degree in political science from Manhattanville, where she graduated summa cum laude. She is also a member of the Page Society's Page Up program for senior communications leaders and serves on the Board of Trustees at Manhattanville College.

Swetha Nair, Head of People

Swetha Nair, Head of People

Swetha Nair is head of People at Flix North America, overseeing the company's HR function. In this role, Swetha manages HR strategies that support a diverse workforce, including both desk and desk-less employees while ensuring HR practices are aligned with business objectives, driving operational efficiency and fostering a unified company culture. One of her key focuses is to ensure Flix NA remains an environment where employees thrive and contribute to the company's commitment to innovation and a customer-first approach. Prior to  Flix, Swetha served as an HR executive at Meta, and spent over a decade managing IT and HR functions at Qualcomm. She is an alumna of Visvesvaraya Technological University (B.E., '05) and holds an international master's in business administration from the University of San Diego (I.M.B.A., '10).

Jenna McLoughlin, Vice President of Business Development

Jenna McLoughlin, Vice President of Business Development

As vice president of business development, Jenna leads the development of the FlixBus partner network. She works to enhance existing relationships, cultivates new partnerships and aligns cross-functional teams to support Flix's growth. A seasoned leader in finance, business development, and strategy, Jenna brings extensive experience from the technology and transportation sectors. She began her career at Cisco, where she worked on the Internet of Things initiatives, laying the foundation for her focus on transformative technology solutions. She later joined Lyft, where she held various senior roles with increasing responsibility and played a pivotal role in building and leading the company’s autonomous strategy, emerging vertical initiatives, and business development efforts.
